Minerals and Nutritional Supplements - Calee Malee |
| |
Over the past hundred years tablet manufacturers have developed materials and process that can produce compressed tablets contining a precise amount of an active pharmaceutical ingredient (API) at high speed and at relatively low cost. Current usage of the term " direct compression " is used to define the process by which tablets are compressed directly from the powder of active ingredient/s and suitable excipients. No pretreatment of the powder blends by wet or dry granulation is involved. Directly Compressible Grade materials are blend of Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients with suitable excipients and ready to compress into tablets. They are also referred as drum to hopper grade materials. |

Dispersible and chewable tablets are not very
suitable for active ingredients with an unpleasant taste |

| To overcome the above mentioned problems and to enhance patient compliance, Bajaj Healthcare Ltd. has developed Palatable Taste - Masked Mouth Dissolving Pellets of various drugs and nutritional supplements that has the following advantages : |
| |
Ready disperse or disintegrate in less than 60 seconds |

Ensures quantitative intake of the intended dose |
Can be divided into desired dose strengths without formulation or process changes |
Permits intake of high doses without swallowing difficulties |
Can be administered without aid of water or any such liquid |
Masks the often unpleasant taste of the active ingredient |
Disperse freely in the gastrointestestinal tract, maximize drug absorption, minimize |
| |
local irritation of the mucosa by certain irritant drugs |
Offer high degree of flexibility in the design and development of oral dosage forms |
Deliver incompatible bioactive agents simultaneously |
Provide different release profiles at the same or different sites in the gastrointestinal tract |
Can also be administered by sprinkling on soft foods such as puddigs, cakes, Ice Creams |
Good flow properties |
Can be packed in a single serve sachets |

| We have developed a novel Palatable Taste-Masked Mouth Dissolving Pellets of Calcium Citrate and Calcium Citrate Malate with Vitamin D3. Calcium Citrate and Calcium Citrate malate is more bioavailable than Calcium Carbonate. Vitamin D3 is reported to enhance the Calcium absorption in the body. |
