	Solubility	Freely soluble in water, slightly soluble in alcohol, practically insoluble in ether.
	Identification	Test A, B, C, D & E are +ve.
	Appearance of Solution	10 % W/V solution in water is clear & not more intensely coloured that refered solution B₇ or Gy₇.
	Sp. optical rotaion	+21.0° to 22.5°
	Ninhydrin-positive Test	Any seconday spot obtained with test solution (a) is not more intense than the spot obtained with referred Solution (b).
